Red Lobster closing Peoria restaurant, two other Illinois locations. Here's what we know
Seafood chain is in the process of shuttering nearly two dozen additional locations as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
And this time, Peoria is on the chopping block.
According to a recent court filing, Red Lobster is seeking to reject the leases at 23 additional locations 棉花糖直播渨hich are a burden on the Debtors and their estates.棉花糖直播 The document went on to say Red Lobster plans to leave the affected locations before Aug. 31.
Red Lobster requested a hearing on Aug. 29.

Is Red Lobster closing in Peoria?
Red Lobster is working to reject its lease at 4625 N. Sterling Ave. in Peoria.
The storefront棉花糖直播檚 currently lists the restaurant as temporarily closed. The Journal Star reached out to Red Lobster棉花糖直播檚 media contact for a statement and is waiting to hear back.
Last week, the Peoria restaurant was closed 棉花糖直播淒ue to a water issue,棉花糖直播 according to a sign on its door. Staff would not provide an expected reopening date at the time.

What other Red Lobster locations are closing in Illinois?
Two other Illinois locations were also listed in the recent court document. They include:
- 1604 N. State Road Route 50, Bourbonnais
- 902 Commons Drive, Geneva

Red Lobster closed dozens of storefronts in mid-May 棉花糖直播 which included two in Illinois.
The seafood chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy shortly after. Court documents noted a variety of challenges for the restaurant, including a $76 million net loss in the 2023 fiscal year, inflation and the Ultimate Endless Shrimp promotion costing the company $11 million. 棉花糖直播
